Wall & Wall Win 5 Alive Team Trail Qualifier #1 Hyco Lake

Date:

5 Alive Team Trail/ Caswell Glass Heritage Trail
NC Marine Sales  Qualifier #1 Hyco Lake
                                        3/11/2023

We kicked off the 2023 season Saturday at Hyco Lake with our first Qualifier of the year. In typical 5 Alive Team Trail fashion we had a cold front sit down on top of us the day of the tournament.

The wind blew all day with no respect for any of our feelings. I thought the bite would be tough but boy was I wrong. ” There is a reason I’m a tournament director and not fishing

The weights were really good across the board. At the end of the day it was the team of Jimmy & James Wall that topped the 81 boat field to take home the NC Marine / Caymas Kick off tournament WIN. They had a BIG bag weighing 23.69 pounds. They also won Big Fish with a fish weighing 9.59 pounds.

They Won the tournament, TWT, Big fish and the Bonus NC Marine / Caymas Money totaling $4740.00 I knew they would be one of the top contenders for the win at this tournament. Them boys are good anywhere but really good on Hyco Lake. Great job guys! They were followed by the team of Frank Dalton Jr.  & Travis Owens  with a good bag weighing 17.44 pounds. They also won 2nd place TWT earning them $1185.00 Mr Frank is pretty good when they get on them docks for sure. Good job guys! Now onto the Caswell Glass Heritage Trail.  The team of Ross Oliver & Ethan Larabee picked rite up where they left off last year. They brought home the WIN in the first tournament of the year with a bag weighing 16.03 pounds. That earned them plaques, two Favorite Fishing rods and two Tarheel Flooring $50.00 Bass Pro Shops gift cards. They also finished 6th in the 5 Alive tournament winning $320.00 2nd place was the team of Green & Miles with a bag weighing 15.32 pounds earning them 2 Bobcats Bait and Tackle $25.00 Gift cards. We kicked off a new division this year call the Countryside Service Center FAT 5 DIVISION. We had 20 teams sign up and expect more at Gaston to sign on. The team of Brann & Bailey are leading that after one event with 5.85 pounds.
Good job guys. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who won !!!!

NC MARINE and Caymas Boats really stepped up and made this tournament happen on Hyco Lake. Anyone that has tried to put on a tournament there knows there alot of hoops to jump through to make it happen. We’ll they did it and covered anyone who didn’t have a yearly pass for the day. They also added a $1500.00 to whoever won the tournament. They also catered the tournament for all of the Anglers. NC MARINE and Caymas Boats also had a side tournament for all of the Caymas Boats paying the top 3 spots. This is a tournament that we will have at all of or Qualifiers.  You Caymas guys have even more to fish for in our tournaments.
